President's Message
Welcome to Kensey Nash Corporation's website. We hope that you will spend a few minutes exploring these pages and getting to know our company. As you will see, these are exciting times for our business.
Since our founding in 1984, Kensey Nash Corporation's (KNC) focus has always been on building long-term relationships by providing quality medical products and services. We continue to accomplish this mission with groundbreaking research and innovative technology. KNC pioneered the concept of vascular closure with our Angio-Seal™ device, the market share leader now under license to St. Jude Medical. Today, we continue to manufacture key resorbable biomaterial components of this revolutionary technology along with over 100 other biomaterial products used in orthopaedics including sports medicine, spine and trauma, dentistry and drug delivery.
We developed a platform of endovascular products, including the ThromCat™ Mechanical Thrombectomy System, and QuickCat™ Extraction Catheter and acquired the Safe-Cross® Radio Frequency Total Occlusion Crossing System, all innovative products addressing vascular disease. In May 2008, we sold this portfolio of products to the Spectranetics Corporation, who will continue to market and sell these products worldwide. Under manufacturing and research and development agreements with Spectranetics, we will continue to manufacture the products and develop next generation versions of the ThromCat™ and Safe-Cross® for them as partners in the future success of the business.
We are extremely grateful for the commitment and strong performance of our employees and the dedication they show every day in the workplace. This enthusiasm has borne tangible results in the growth of our company. Fortune Magazine recognized KNC as one of the 100 fastest growing publicly held companies in the United States. We view this success not just as an accomplishment, but a platform to build upon.
As an industry leader, we understand the significance of our work and are proud of our contributions in providing new and innovative products that improve quality of life. At Kensey Nash Corporation, we look forward to carrying on this tradition.
Best regards,
Joseph W. Kaufmann
